We are a small family-owned and operated business located in Eastern Tennessee. Our focus is on creating handmade and refurbished one of a kind pieces for a joyful home. Stephanie is the creative, Dustin is the tech guy, and Arlo brings the pep!
Stephanie’s Inspiration (in her own words):
I was born with an unfettered creative spirit. Thankfully, God gifted me with grandparents who encouraged this divine spark within me from the time I was a little girl.
Every time I visited my Baba & Deda, I was free to make things with my hands, even if it meant making a mess. Sometimes we’d paint little wooden figurines my Deda created, sometimes we’d blow out the yolks and dye eggs, and other times Baba would help me sew on the old Singer.
My grandparents were children during the Great Depression, who also taught me the value of reusing and how to view someone else’s trash as possible treasure. Baba & Deda would give me a dollar to spend when we’d frequent garage sales. They always called it “going bummin’”, but I always saw it as an exciting scavenger hunt!
Cherished memories of crafting and thrifting with my grandparents are nearly 40 years old now, but they have had an immense impact on my life. These experiences set the foundation for a life content with making things myself, and seeing potential in what others view as broken, useless, and ugly.
For the last 30 years, I have had a special affinity for turning a house into a home – through refinished furniture, handicrafts, decorating, and holiday decor. I love to make the unexpected out of the ordinary, while gravitating towards simple and mixed-media materials, traditional techniques, and classic designs to create lovely and useful furnishings.
Creating with my hands has always filled me with incredible joy and reminded me of my connection to my beloved grandparents… and now I hope to share this joy with you. My prayer is for the things I create to bring beauty and function to the homes of those who purchase my one-of-a-kind pieces.
